Tapatio Tequila Blanco
Tapatio Tequila Blanco comes from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, crafted at the family-run La Alteña distillery established in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena.
This tequila uses 100% blue Weber agave grown on volcanic soil, nurtured for 6 to 8 years. The agave piñas are slow-cooked in stone ovens for 36 hours to develop rich flavors. The juice is extracted using traditional Tahona mills and fermented naturally in wooden vats with a house yeast culture over several days.
Double distillation happens in copper pot stills, followed by six months of rest in stainless steel tanks to enhance smoothness without aging in wood.
This Blanco tequila shows a fresh and vibrant character with lively citrus and anise notes. A cinnamon spice kicks in on the palate, rounded by a clean cooked agave sweetness. The finish is long and peppery with white pepper warmth that lingers.
