Tapatio Tequila Reposado
Tapatio Tequila Reposado comes from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, produced at the family-owned La Alteña distillery founded in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena.
The estate grows 100% blue Weber agave nurtured in volcanic soil for 6-8 years. Agave piñas are slow-cooked for four days in traditional brick ovens to develop rich sweetness.
The juice is extracted using the traditional tahona method, where a volcanic stone wheel crushes cooked agave. Fermentation happens naturally in wooden vats using an 80-year-old yeast culture, giving the spirit depth and complexity. Double distillation occurs in copper pot stills. The tequila ages for 8 months in American white oak barrels, enhancing smoothness with flavors of caramel and subtle smoke.
